Another Interesting Bike Ride

So it's Labor Day. We should labor, right? We decided to try another bike trail today (there are so many to choose from). We went to Fort Atkinson to ride the Glacial River Trail. It's an 8 mile long trail so we decided that 16 miles round trip was something we could do. Note the name of the trail Glacial RIVER Trail. It runs right along side of the highway we traveled to get to the trail. Not a river in site of the trail ride. It was beautiful though.

We love the well maintained trails in Wisconsin.

Minute To Win It

The Activity Days girls invited one of their parents to attend our "Minute To Win It" game night. We played 8 different games. Some seemed like they should be easy but actually were very difficult to complete. We all had a super fun time trying each game.

Teams Waiting for Instructions

This Blows - Blow up the balloon and blow 15 cups off the table with the balloon in ONE minute.

Speed Eraser - Using the eraser end of unsharpened pencils and seven glasses, try to bounce one pencil into each glass in ONE minute.

Sharp Shooter - From 8 feet away, shoot three UNO cards with rubber bands to knock them over in ONE minute.

Marbles Grande - Using ping-pong balls, throw them at the colored ping-pong balls inside the hula hoop to knock them out of the hula hoop in ONE minute.

Defying Gravity - Using three inflated balloons keep them in the air using only your hands for ONE minute.

Broomski Ball - We didn't actually use brooms but had the teams bounce tennis balls to get them into two different size garbage cans in ONE minute.

Junk In The Trunk - With a kleenex box with 8 ping-pong balls inside tied to your back, try to get all 8 balls out of the box by jumping up and down in ONE minute.

Activity Days - Mother's Day Gifts

Our Activity Days girls made flower pots filled with candy for their moms for Mother's Day gifts. We had great helpers and were able to paint the pots and flower stems, assemble four cut-out flowers together, add a brad to hold all the pieces in place, attach the flower to their painted stem, place it in florist foam in the pot and make a tag, wrap it with cellophane, tie a bow to finish the project all in one hour and 10 minutes. We had some awesome non-members helping us get them put together. They were so impressed with the girls and said they'd never had so much fun.

Views Of The Backyard

Just a few photos of what we see in our backyard almost daily. The other day there were two wild turkeys walking up my driveway. They left before I could even get a camera to photograph them. I love seeing the wildlife roaming around behind our home.

Green Bay Packers Win the 45th Super Bowl

There is a company just down the street from where we live that creates very interesting snow sculptures when teams win or just for fun. I pulled over to take a picture of this and a police officer turned around to check and see what I was doing. So I quickly took two pictures, she gave me a thumbs up that it was okay and I left. I should have hung around and tried to get a few more shots.

Snow Day

Schools were canceled, no mail delivery, appointments canceled, Ken worked from home, but we're so grateful for a warm home to get out of the 50 mph winds and very deep snow.

This is how we spent our snow day.

The mailbox is almost buried

Finally made the first pass down the driveway
