Activity Days - Mother's Day Gifts

Our Activity Days girls made flower pots filled with candy for their moms for Mother's Day gifts. We had great helpers and were able to paint the pots and flower stems, assemble four cut-out flowers together, add a brad to hold all the pieces in place, attach the flower to their painted stem, place it in florist foam in the pot and make a tag, wrap it with cellophane, tie a bow to finish the project all in one hour and 10 minutes. We had some awesome non-members helping us get them put together. They were so impressed with the girls and said they'd never had so much fun.

Views Of The Backyard

Just a few photos of what we see in our backyard almost daily. The other day there were two wild turkeys walking up my driveway. They left before I could even get a camera to photograph them. I love seeing the wildlife roaming around behind our home.

Green Bay Packers Win the 45th Super Bowl

There is a company just down the street from where we live that creates very interesting snow sculptures when teams win or just for fun. I pulled over to take a picture of this and a police officer turned around to check and see what I was doing. So I quickly took two pictures, she gave me a thumbs up that it was okay and I left. I should have hung around and tried to get a few more shots.

Snow Day

Schools were canceled, no mail delivery, appointments canceled, Ken worked from home, but we're so grateful for a warm home to get out of the 50 mph winds and very deep snow.

This is how we spent our snow day.

The mailbox is almost buried

Finally made the first pass down the driveway

The Great American Eagle

We took a drive up to Sauk Prairie (which is Sauk City and Prairie du Sac) on the Wisconsin River to do some eagle watching. The eagles nest there as it is a great place for them to find fish in the river. It's a beautiful sight to see these majestic birds perched in the trees and in flight over the river.
