We've lived in Wiscosin now 10 years and every year we talk about going to Door County. This year we finally made the trip. It's fall and the colors of the leaves are changing so we took advantage of this time to travel north. It was very quiet and relaxing as all the kids have gone back to school. We enjoyed a trolley ride tour of several of the lighthouses on the Green Bay side and the Michigan Lake side of the peninsula. We took the 5-hour tour which included lunch and traveled from Fish Creek to Peninsula State Park then on to Bailey's Harbor and Sturgeon Bay then back to Fish Creek. Here are a few photos from this wonderfully relaxing trip.

We climbed this 75 foot high tower. The view was fantastic.

Sturgeon Bay Ship North Lighthouse
Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Lighthouse. A canal was dug in Sturgeon Bay for ships to pass through so they didn't have to travel back up around the peninsula.
Biking in Peninsula State Park. The trail was only 9.6 miles long but we got lost and ended up riding an extra three miles.
This is a view of one of the Ferry's that take you, your car and bike across Lake Michigan to Washington Island.
The steps we had to climb to get to the tower to look out over the island

It all looks like such fun and wow! the natural beauty there is fabulous. Of course you got a bike ride in. I think those steps takng you up to the top of the tower, would have done me in.
Beautiful! Glad you finally got to see it after all that time.
