Schools were canceled, no mail delivery, appointments canceled, Ken worked from home, but we're so grateful for a warm home to get out of the 50 mph winds and very deep snow.
This is how we spent our snow day.
The mailbox is almost buried
Finally made the first pass down the driveway
Snow drifts on the deck

Ugh! That does not look like much fun!
Whoa.... I'm so glad you blogged this. I have been wondering about you. When they said on the news that there was 2-3 feet of snow in some areas of the country, and high winds... I knew exactly what you were in for. I remember the winter of 1949 here. YES I really do remember it!! I was five years old and in Kindergarten. The forcast was "snow showers". We got three feet of snow with wind. I have photos of my brother and I standing by our tall mailbox. It is at our feet. We had a drift in the back yard that went up to the roof. We carved steps in the side of it and slid on it for weeks, in fact it was summer before the last of it melted. We didn't have a car, but I remember walking to school on top of huge drifts, looking down on the cars! Well, I'm sure you were prepared....I LOVE seeing the pictures. I hope you do not get more.
BRRRRR!!!! Glad we live far enough south to avoid all that yucky weather. It's a good thing you have such a beastly snowblower and not that toy you gave us. :)
